Thanks to our wonderful PTA, Adventures in Art will also start on Monday for both the AM and PM classes. Parent volunteers will come in on four different days to teach us about interesting pieces of art. We will also get to create fun art projects that are related to the piece.
THIS WEEK WE WILL WORK ON:
Reading: Lesson 16
- Phonemic Awareness: review final sounds in words
- Letter: Ll and Hh
- High-Frequency Words: one, see
- Work on using story structure to better understand a story
- Identify the setting of a story
- Robust Vocabulary: load, bound, steep, drooped, joyous, thrill
- Reread Chugga-Chugga Choo-Choo By Kevin Lewis and Snowmen at Night by Caralyn Buehner
- Writing commands and working on word choice
- Centers on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

- Lesson 15 Homework (Due Back February 7)
- Lesson 16 Homework (Will come home February 7, Due back Thursday, February 13)
Guided Readers (I will be reading these with students in groups of 4-5 throughout the week)
- Lesson 16 Red (focuses on recognizing the letter Ll and Hh and the sound they make)
- Lesson 16 Blue (includes short sentences that focus on our new sight words, one and see. It also focuses on basic CVC words and reviews previous sight words)
- Lesson 16 Green (includes more complex sentences)
- Unit 3:
- 3.20: More Graph Drawings: Match and Compare
- Objectives: describe relative position using ordinal numbers; establish links between math and the real world; tell and solve addition and subtraction stories; use the words more and fewer to compare quantities
