This Week (1/22 - 25) Calendar has Valentine's Day Party info!

Morning Meeting Schedule: Each student will have a time where they can share.  We will start with a greeting and then students will have two minutes to tell a story, show or talk about something they would like to bring to share with the class.  They will ask for three questions or comments.  If they are bringing in an item to share, it must fit in their backpack.
Here is our schedule:

Mondays: No School
Tuesdays: Lizzie, Brayden, Josiah and Elias Davis
Wednesdays: Emmy D., Owen, Julia and North Nolan
Thursdays: Genevieve, Alonso, Emily O., Caden and Rory Audrey
Fridays: Jackson, Kaia, Rein, Amelia and Barbara Connor

Spelling Words - Unit 15- working on blends scr, str, spr:
Basic List:  screen, scream, scrape, stripe, struck, strict, sprain, spring, spruce, strap

Reading: Unit 6: Summarize Information
We will be kicking off a new unit in reading involving summarization and learning fix-up monitoring strategies. We will learn that readers summarize by determining the most important ideas and restating those ideas in their own words.  We will also learn that summarizing helps readers recognize key points and remember what they’ve read.  Students will summarize what they see in pictures and read in text.

The Daily Five in Reading:

*Read to Self:  Read! Read! Read!

*Read to Someone: Reading to someone

*Listen to Reading: Working on RazKids, Tumblebooks

*Work on Writing: Spelling City, blending puzzles and blending game, write 
  spelling words in sentences

*Word Work - working on fluency with reading passages and work on Sight Words

In Math:

We will be working on Unit 7 - Graphing.  Your child will learn how to create and read picture graphs, bar graphs, circle graphs and tables.

Social Studies: We are learning about goods and services.

Monday:       No School
Tuesday:      Day 1 - ICE SKATING
Wednesday: Day 2
Thursday:     Day 3 
Friday:          Day 4

On Day 1 we go to: Gym and Media

On Day 2 we go to: Music

On Day 3 we go to: Media and Gym

On Day 4 we go to: Art (Please have your child bring back their library book so they can check out a new one on Day 5)

On Day 5 we go to: Gym and Media (Check out day)

On Day 6 we go to: Art and Music

Help your child remember to bring back their Friday Folders on Monday and bring a healthy snack every day!

2/14 - Valentine's Party! - We will have a Valentine's Party! 

The kiddos can create a Valentine Box or Bag at home. I love seeing how creative they are!  

The total number of students in the class is 22.  

Just have your child write his/her name on the Valentine's he/she will hand out.  

Example: From: Ms. Rasicot  

The party will start at 1:30ish. 

Students will hand out Valentine's

Then at 2:00 to 3:00 we will have centers with games

And then at 3:00 the students will look through their boxes/bags
