Reading: Unit 6: Summarize Information
We will be reading a big book called Postcard Clues. This story is about a girl who sends her friend postcards with clues about the places she visits on a trip around the world. We will learn more features of realistic fiction. At home this week, try incorporating realistic fiction stories into your child’s reading time. Understanding that realistic fiction is a made-up story that could really happen will be key. Students will be able to summarize stories as they read, and retell story events.
We are learning to ask who is/are the character/s in the story (Somebody), what did they want to do or happen (Wanted), what was the problem (But) and how did they solve the problem.....what was the solution (So and Then).
