Reading & Writing
Unit 5 - Skill: Connections & Inferencing:
We will continue to work on Inferencing. The unit will include students making inferences and connections. Making an inference means figuring out something that is not stated directly in
a text. An inference is based on one or two clues in the text. Authors do not always tell readers
everything, but they include clues that readers can put together for themselves.
Making inferences helps readers better understand the ideas in a text.
We will continue to work on writing complete sentences with correct punctuation
On Thursday we will talk about our Informational Animal Report! Students will pick the animal they
will be researching.

*Thinking about your feelings helps the thinking part of your brain get back in control.
The objective is students will be able to identify physical clues that can help them name
their own feelings.
